Italy, June 2012

Captain Kidd traveled to Italy and other parts of Europe over the summer. So far I only have the pictures of Captain Kidd in Italy, which are awesome! I cannot wait to see the other pictures! Here are the caption's my friend sent me with the photos.

at the dome in florence (it's very completion was an engineering feat not accomplished since the time of the romans, and is considered to have ignited the renaissance. it spans a greater distance than the largest roman dome; in fact it has the greatest span of any masonry dome in the world, still--even greater than st peter's)

pisa. 'nuff said. (Capt. Kidd leans like the Pisa)

st peter's square (and basilica), vatican city

inside st peter's. btw, that tall, free-standing brown thing is 100 feet tall and solid bronze. it stands over the tomb of saint peter the apostle. and the letters wrapped around the dome are 6 ft tall. that place is gigantic.

Fort Walton, FL May 8 - 10, 2012

Captain Kidd spent the weekend at the Emerald Coast. He went to the beach, visited a native american mound, and met aligators.

Captain Kidd visited Lake Jackson in Florala, AL.

 Can you find the Captain?

The Captain Kidd Twins

Last night, a package came in the mail. It was the Capt. Kidd twins! My dad used to say when asked how he was "I'm doing great! If I was doing better, I'd be twins!" Well now he is! They look different from the original but I like them. I think they're cute. They remind me of the tree spirits from the Princess Mononoke movie. A great thing about having 2 Captain Kidds is that if one becomes lost or destroyed, there will always be another to take its place.

I miss the original Captain Kidd but these two will make great substitutions. They are ready to begin their travels around the world!

An Unfortunate Accident

While on his way to Israel last month, Captain Kidd was in an accident. A puppy dog found him and thought he was an irresistible dog toy and decided to play with Captain Kidd. The puppy plays hard with his toys and after the play fest Captain Kidd left in pieces.

But not all is lost! Captain Kidd will be returning to his adventures shortly!  new Captain Kidd is on his way to replace the old one! It seems the captain has followed the Dreaded Pirate Roberts footsteps in having successors keeping his name (Princess Bride reference).

Captain Kidd will be on his trips again as soon as the new one arrives. Hopefully some time this month. Thank you for all the support for the project so far. We look forward to enjoying more adventures soon!
